The playoffs are also exciting. It also has to do with few teams making the playoffs and chasing a championship. Adding more playoff teams will result in the NFL’s competitiveness being watered down and the games will be less meaningful and less exciting. I guess Jerry wants to be like the NHL where only the terrible teams don't make the playoffs.
It makes sense why Jerry Jones would want more teams added to the playoffs. His Dallas cowboys suck and miss the playoffs almost every year. Expanding the playoff field would give his pathetic Dallas Cowboys a better chance of making the post-season.
It would take some pressure off Tony "Oh No it's December" Romo. Romo would be able to choke December away and still have shot at making the playoffs.
I don't know about you but there's some humor in Dallas losing the last game of the year in choking fashion. I want to see that continue. I want to see sub-par teams like Dallas sitting at home for the playoffs. Teams like Dallas deserve to be on the outside looking in and owners/GMs like Jerry Jones are more suited to watching the playoff from their living rooms and not some suites in a stadium.
Jerry is grasping at straws here but the problem is that the NFL will probably add more teams to the playoffs. If they do that, I would like to see them add four more teams to the league.
If the NFL adds more playoff teams, gone will be the days of seasons ike 2013 where every game meant something and playoff berths were decided on the very last day and the very last game.
I want to see more seasons like 2013. I don't want to see the NFL watered down. Seriously folks, this is not the CFL where 6 out of 8 teams make the playoffs. Correction: In 2014, only 6 out of 9 teams will make the playoffs as Ottawa will join the league.
Jerry is trying to find any way he can to make his pathetic team make the playoffs. I sure hope that the NFL is smart enough to see what Jerry is trying to do.
