2013 NFL Picks - Week #16

Peyton Manning Autographed Picture - 8x10 VERTICAL STEINERWeek 15 was another weird and wacky week in the NFL and as I've mentioned before things are heating up. One thing that is cooling down is my picking. I didn't get the upset special right for the third straight week. It's back to the drawing board for me and I only have two weeks to prove my prognostication skills.

In week 16 I went 3-4 bringing my total for the year to 44 correct and 28 incorrect.

And now for the picks:

Purple Pride Special - Minnesota Vikings (4-9-1) at Cincinnati Bengals (9-5)
Minnesota will stroll into Cincinnati after demolishing the Eagles last Sunday. This game will be much harder to come out victorious. For one, the Bengals will want to avenge a heartbreaking defeat to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Secondly, the Bengals are vying for a division title. A win will move them one step closer to that goal with their final game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Thirdly, the Bengals are 6-0 at home.

With two games remaining, Leslie Frazier is one step closer to having the door closing shut on his caboose at the end of the season. The chances of the Vikings winning this game are very slim.

Cincinnati wins 28-24.

Upset in the Making - Cleveland Browns (4-10) at New York Jets (6-8)
Cleveland winning this game seems highly unlikely. The Jets are 5-2 at home while the Browns are 1-5 on the road. So the Browns are hardly built for the road. They're not built for home either. They're not built for anything.

So the Jets should win this game, right? Not exactly. They have a QB named Geno Smith and that will go a long way in the Jets struggling throughout the game. Geno's most exciting play is the pick six and look for him to reward us with another one.

With Geno being a liability, look for the Browns to capitalize and play a good game.

Cleveland wins 16-9.

Snoozer of the Week - Denver Broncos (11-3) at Houston Texans (2-12)
This game doubles as the Lock of the Week as well.
The Broncos suffered a minor setback last Thursday at the hands of the San Diego Chargers but luckily for Peyton and company they play the terrible Houston Texans.

Houston will extend their losing streak to 13 games. They seem to have one goal and that's to lock-up the #1 draft pick in 2014.

Denver wins 51-6 and Peyton Manning breaks Brady's single season TD record.

Wild Card of the Week - Dallas Cowboys (7-7) at the Washington Football Team (3-11)
Dallas needs a win and it's December. That's spells trouble as Oh No Romo Time kicks into gear. Last Sunday proved once again that you can't put your trust in Oh No in December.

Dallas has a terrible defense and Kirk Cousins will shred them up on Sunday.

Romo won't go away lightly and will be right in the game until the end when Romo throws a pick six!

Washington wins 24-17 and Dez Bryant throws another hissy fit.

Monday Night Football - Atlanta Falcons (4-10) at San Francisco 49ers (10-4)
This game could have easily been the Lock of the Week and Snoozer of the week.

There's not much to say about this game. Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers will have this game won before the first quarter is over.

San Francisco wins 35-14.

Well that's it for week 15's picks. We'll be back next week for our final picks segment. Have fun watching the games and good luck to your team.
