The NHL Sticks It To Their Fans

Article written by Sportmentary - Editor in Chief Sportmentary Online Sports Talk
After a long bitter lockout between the NHL and NHLPA where millionaires and billionaires acted like greedy pigs, Commissioner Gary Bettman looked into the cameras and told NHL fans that the league would make it up to them.

So how has the NHL repaid the loyalty of their fans who stuck by the league even when owners and players stuck out their middle finger at them? They increased the price of tickets. This is the highest hike among the North American professional sports leagues.

This is inexcusable but the fans can blame themselves for the barbaric treatment of the NHL towards their fan base. As long as the fans continue to flock to the games the NHL will continue to spit in their faces. The fans will continue to be treated worse that horse manure.

The not so funny thing is that it has been reported that the NHL's brand has suffered after the long and bitter lockout. So the league treated their fan base like cow dung, their brand has been harmed and they show their appreciation to their fans by jacking up ticket prices?

Has the league lost its mind? I don't think they had brains to begin with. We're talking about donkeys and overpaid morons. We're talking about people who are clueless when it comes to how to treat their customers.

Maybe the NHL thinks that the NHL fan base is made up of losers who aren't that smart. I sure hope that's not what they're thinking. Eventually the fans will leave and never come back.

I'm still waiting to see how the NHL is going to make it up to the fans. Increasing ticket prices isn't making it up to the fans. It's the other way around. It's the fans that are making up for the losses created by a bunch of greedy idiots.

In the end you and I have the option of spitting back in the faces of the very people who are metaphorically urinating on us. As long as we take it and show the NHL that we seem to enjoy it, they will continue to teat us like garbage without regard to showing some respect and appreciation for their customers.

Shame on the NHL. Shame on them. Shame on them!

The NHL is Wednesday's Fool of the Day for treating their fans like garbage.
