Former Arizona Cardinal Claims He Met Te'o's Fictitious Girlfriend

Article written by Sportmentary - Editor in Chief Sportmentary Online Sports Talk
Can the Manti Te'o girlfriend hoax story get even weirder? It already has. Former Arizona Cardinals fullback Reagan Maui'a claims that he met the fictitious girlfriend while doing charity work in Samoa. Are you kidding me? Is this guy for real or has he gone bananas as well?

I think Reagan needs to check himself into a mental health facility in order to get a reality check. Maybe he needs to check his little black book to ensure that he has the right name. You know those little black books can contain many names and some might sound similar.

It seems every few hours we find out about another tidbit of information. With each bit of information the story gets stranger and stranger. Caught up in this hoax is Manti. Questions are being asked if Manti was involved in the hoax.

While I do have my opinion about that I will refrain from writing it here. It's safe to say that there are more questions than answers. More investigation is needed to see what happened and who was involved. At the very least Manti was extremely naive and gullible. He had a girlfriend that never existed. He even mourned for her believing she had died (just six hours after his grandmother).

If Manti was a victim of this hoax the person or people involved are sick and disgusting. Who would do this to someone? The person must really hate Manti. Not only is the hoax cruel but the timing of telling him that his girlfriend had died is even crueler. To inform someone of this bogus tragic news after they have lost their grandmother is disgusting.

If Reagan's claims are true that he met this fictitious person where is his proof? I sure hope that he wasn't trying to make a funny joke here. That wouldn't be funny at all. It seems as if we now have two guys who believe or believed that this person was real.

As I mentioned a couple of times already, this story is about to get even more bizarre. I can't remember another sports story being this weird. I can only imagine how weird it is for Manti if he indeed is a true victim. If he did have involvement in the hoax his life is about to turn upside down.
