Loveless But Not Winless

The Minnesota Timberwolves might not be with their star player, Kevin Love but they aren't winless. In fact Minnesota is now 3-1. Tonight they won their second game in a row by defeating the Orlando Magic 90-75. This is an impressive start for our Timberwolves. Who would have thought that this group of players would have compiled a 3-1 record without Love?

As mentioned in other updates, I didn't see this start coming. It's great. It seems as if there's a different guy taking charge every night. Tonight it was Luke Ridnour who had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. The Timberwolves have a diverse squad and they are on fire right now.

Then there's the bench. Their bench has played an important role in every victory. Tonight, two guys came off the bench in support of their team and helped earn the team the win. Chase Budinger played a big role in the 22 comeback victory a couple nights ago and he played a role again. Tonight Budinger had 10 points. It's good to see that he's playing a role every night.

Then there's Greg Stiemsma who came off the bench to score 12 points. He also had 5 rebounds. It's important for all the role players to come out night after night and play like they are playing now. This is an impressive start but they need to continue working hard and earning victories.

It was Ridnour and Stiemsma who got the ball rolling in the third quarter as the Timberwolves ran away with the victory. This is also the second straight night that the Timberwolves had an explosive second half. This is definitely a team that can't be overlooked.

The Timberwolves are playing well right now. They are a great second half team and tonight shows that when they keep the game close in the first half, their opponent better watch out heading into the second half. This is a surprisingly explosive team and I love it!
