Fool of the Day - Jim Harbaugh

While the rest of the day is still ahead of us, it's not too early to name today's Fool of the Day. That person is San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim "I should shut up" Harbaugh. After last night's obliteration of the Chicago Bears at the hands of backup quarterback (QB) Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers, Harbaugh stirred a controversy by saying that he will start the "hot hand".

His comments came after backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick shredded the Bears defense. The kid was excellent an showed a lot of poise but to say that he would consider starting the kid if Alex was ready to go is completely insane.

I don't think that Harbaugh is serious. I think he just wants to toy with Smith. I think he wants Smith to look over his shoulder to see a backup QB who is ready, willing and able to take his job away. I think he's a nut job. He's a fool. He's a jerk.

Smith is ranked 3rd in the NFL among quarterbacks. So you want to replace him with a backup? As I said before, that's insane. Colin played in his first full game. The Bears didn't know much about the qb or have a lot tape to prepare for him.  Other defenses will now and if he starts, I believe it would be setting him up to fail.

Kaepernick had a great game. It was a great moment. Harbaugh should continue to let him develop and shouldn't throw him to the wolves. If the 49ers are serious about trying to win a Super Bowl, Harbaugh wouldn't be doing a Rex Ryan by acting like a clown. He wouldn't be throwing Alex Smith under the bus.

I think Harbaugh is a good coach but he's a bully. He seems to want to antagonize Alex Smith. He's a disruptive person. He might be a nice guy outside of football but I don't see that Jim Harbaugh. The Harbaugh that I see is a guy who likes to antagonize football players and opposing coaches.

I have one recommendation for Harbaugh. Go back to school and learn to speak English. Stop making up words in your news conferences. You want to sound like you're intelligent but you're just a football coach. Don't confuse being a good coach for being a scholar. You're not.

  1. The players love Harbaugh. So much for being a bully. He resurrected Smith's career; if lighting a fire under Alex inspires even better play, great! Otherwise, there's a brilliant player in Kaepernick ready to step in.
