Atrocious! Disgusting! Awful!

Atrocious! Disgusting! Awful! These are words to describe how the Minnesota Vikings played today. Every aspect of the game was putrid. This includes the coaching staff. Before I get to the players, Leslie Frazier is a bonehead. With is team down by 18 points and 4th down and goal with over 12 minutes to play, instead of going for a field goal to make it a two touchdown (TD) possession game, Einstein decided to go for it and the play call was even more atrocious than the decision to go for it. The Vikings came out with a donut on that series.

Actually, I'm going to continue to ridicule Frazier. What was this numskull thinking? Was he thinking? Does this guy have a clue? Is he watching the same game as everyone else? With a TD, the Vikings still would have needed two scores. Yes, it would have been nice to get a TD but the team needed points. Then the play call was garbage. In the end it didn't matter but the decision making still upsets me.

Adrian Peterson Signed Photo - 8x10That's enough of Leslie. Why waste any time. The players were awful today. The defense was awful int he first half. They couldn't stop anything that was thrown or run at them. They let the team down. Once again this squad needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out how to play defense.

The offense wasn't good either. They hardly moved the ball. With Adrian Peterson (AP) only having a decent  day, the offense sputtered. AP had 108 yards on 18 carries. AP also had two fumbles. That's OK but it seems as if he needs to rush for at least 175 yards for the offense to have a chance.  Ponder still has a lot of work to do. Once again he had a bad game after doing well in the last one. Ponder went 22/43 for 159 yards. He also had 1 TD and 1 interception for a QB rating of 58.2. That's atrocious.

You can blame AP for his two fumbles and I do but it's all AP and nothing else. Mistakes will happen when you only have one offensive player. There is nothing to compliment AP. Going over 100 yards should help an offense. It's all AP and no one else is doing their part. Most teams would be a playoff contender with a guy like AP.

The game was a disgusting display of football. Let's not call it football. It's insulting to football to call it that. I don't want to analyze the game any further. It's too painful to do so. We'll see you next week for another Vikings update.

Final Score: Chicago Bears 28 Minnesota 10
