This is a team that finds a way to give their opponents a gift. Why should today have be any different? It wasn't. Joe Flacco threw a short harmless looking pass to Ray Rice. Harmless is the key word here. Ray Rice took that short pass and worked his way through the disastrous Chargers defense. He broke a couple of lame tackles and took it 37 yards, just enough for the first down.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! You have to be kidding me. Baltimore would go on to kick a game tying field goal to send the game to overtime (OT). Things didn't get better for Norv Turner's San Diego Chargers. Philip Rivers couldn't move the ball in the second half and that didn't change in OT.
Flacoo was able to do just enough to win this game. With the game winding down in OT, Flacco found Torrey Smith for a 31 yard pass. It was a great catch that put the Ravens in position to win the game. Unlike the Chargers, the Ravens found a way to win. Justin Tucker kicked a field goal and the Ravens won the game 16-13.
This is indicative of the Chargers. This is Norv Turners's team. It is terrible this year. His Chargers have always under-performed under his coaching. This game was another disgusting display of how his team can't find a way to win.
All I could do was shake my head in disbelief and excitement. I was laughing so hard that tears were rolling down my eyes. I could hardly see in front of me. I've seen a lot of things this year and seen a number of bumbling Chargers plays but this took the cake. That 29 yard play by Rice is the play of the year and my favorite play.
You can stick a fork in the Chargers. This solidified that they will be watching the playoffs from their living rooms. The positive thing for them is that they are only five games away from ending the season and won't have to worry about embarrassing themselves any further once the season ends.
