San Francisco In. St. Louis Out

Down 3 games to 1 in the NLCS, the San Francisco Giants have come roaring back. The Giants won game 7 in front of a home crowd to have a date with the Detroit Tigers in game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday. The Giants did not only win the last 3 games, they destroyed St. Louis. Detroit won the game 9-0.

Autographed Sergio Romo San Francisco Giants Photo - 8x10 PSA/DNASt. Louis is a team that is not only familiar with being in the World Series but is familiar with winning them. They fell apart with the World Series clearly within their sights. The Giants played good baseball when it counted. Their pitching was amazing and their bats came alive. St. Louis on the other hand, didn't have an answer to the Giants rise to the top.

I have to admit that when St. Lois went up 3-1, I didn't give the Giants much of a chance at coming back, even though San Francisco showed in the divisional series that they had that ability. St. Louis is a different team. They are a good club. I didn't expect them to have a monumental let down.

When the Giants won game 5, I started to change my mind. I thought that this club had a chance at a comeback. After winning last night, I tought the chances of the Cardinals winning game 7 became very slim. They were losing these games in San Francisco by large margins. They were being blown out.

How could the Cardinals have this collapse? The answer has more to do with the Giants than it has to do with the Cardinals. I think the Giants just woke up and started playing great baseball. With their pitching and bats being hot, hot, hot, the Cardinals didn't have a chance.

Tonight wasn't any different. This has to be a hard pill to swallow for Cardinals fans. They must be in shock tonight. Shock doesn't even begin to explain it. I think that there will be a lot of questions during this offseason.

Cardinals fans will want to know where their team go can go from here. Obviously the team will have to evaluate what happened and determine if changes are needed. I think they will conclude that they lost the series to a better team. They have a good club and I hope the team doesn't overreact to this heartbreak.

Congratulations to the Giants. They deserve to be in the World series. They played great baseball in the last 3 games. I think they were unbeatable.
