Daily Honor Roll - September 5th, 2012

The US Open had its first real major upset on Wednesday and it was a shocker. Before you say that Tsonga's defeat was major, it wasn't anything as big as the upset on Wednesday.  Sportmentary can't believe it.

Roger Federer was defeated in his quarterfinal match by Tomas Berdych. Who? Some say that Federer wasn't his usual self. Whatever that means.

Beating the world's top seeded player is a great accomplishment and Sportmentary  believes that Berdych is deserving of being added to the honor roll. It takes 2 to tango in a tennis match and Berdych tangod'd all right.

It think it's a cop out for anyone to say that Federer wasn't himself. He is when he wins, right? So Berdych was on top form tonight. The better player won the match and that's all there is to it.

Federer's defeat leaves the door wide open for Andy Murray to reach the finals. Murray will first have to defeat Berdych in the semifianls.
