Daily Honor Roll - September 10th, 2012

Who's today's honoree? Who could it be? Who could it be? Who could it be? Isn't it obvious? If you've been following sports today, the honoree should be a no brainer. It is someone who has finally broken through in his sport. It is a man who's played well and came close on a number of occasions but today he did it.

It took him about 5 hours. After going up 2-0, it looked like it was inevitable that Murray would win the match in 3 or 4 sets but his opponent was tough and a 2nd seeded player. So it took 5 sets for Andy Murray to win his first US Open Championship. He did by defeating Novak Djokovic 7-6, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2.

Andy Murray has finally done what the critics have criticized him from not doing previously. He won a grand slam tournament. In my opinion, the US Open is the biggest tournament behind Wimbledon. Murray should be proud of this accomplishment,

Going forward, Murray can finally go about his business. He doesn't have to worry about winning the first one. That's behind him. No one can take that away from him.
