Daily Honor Roll - August 9th, 2012

Today we have 4 honorees. All are Olympic participants and two are gold medalists. Since we're talking about the number 2, 2 are teams. Team Canada has 2 participants today. The number 2 sure did well today. All our honorees are deserving of being mentioned.

Team USA Women's Soccer Team- Won the Gold medal and were the best team throughout the Olympic Soccer tournament. Team USA won its 3rd consecutive gold medal and this time it was in front of over 80,000 fans at Wembley Stadium.

Team Canada Women's Soccer Team - Canada's soccer team made Canadian history by winning the bronze medal game against France. It was a great tournament for Canada and we're very proud of the way that Canada was able to come out onto the pitch and earn a bronze medal after the heartbreaking loss to Team USA on Monday.

Usain Bolt- Lightning struck again for Bolt as he won his second gold medal of the Olympics by winning the 200 Meters on Thursday. Bolt is an incredible athlete and Olympian. He's exciting to watch.

Tonya Verbeek - Won a silver medal for Canada in the Freestyle Wrestling competition. I'm not sure what Freestyle Wrestling is and not sure I even like the event but it's still a good accomplishment for the Canadian female wrestler.
