Daily Honor Roll - August 5th, 2012

Today was an exciting day for Great Britain and one of its sport's heroes has electrified a nation. Today's honoree's are Olympians in three different sports but their accomplishments are worthy of being honored today, August 5th, 2012.

Andy Murray - Andy Murray of Great Britain dropped to his knees after avenging his Wimbledon loss to Roger Federer by destroying Federer in 3 straight sets to win the gold medal. Tears poured from his face and the excitement of the nation could be heard around the world. Their excitement even had this sports fan choked up.

Usain Bolt - Usain defended his Beijing 100 meter gold with another gold medal in London on Sunday. Bolt can now lay claim to being the fastest man in the world. Bolt won the gold medal in Olympic record setting fashion.

Team USA Women's Basketball Team - Team USA matched a record by demolishing China 114-66. Too bad the Americans didn't score a few more points to make the embarrassing loss sting even more. By virtue of this rout, USA deserves to be honored today.
