Daily Honor Roll - August 4th, 2012

While 1 honoree isn't a swimmer, swimming rules the day for August 4th. There should be no surprise for our first honoree. One word defines his career; Greatest!

Michael Phelps - Phelps has made the listing again with a win in the men's 4X100 medley. Phelps ends his career with a record 22 medals, 18 of them gold. Phelps owned this Olympics with 6 medals, 4 of them gold. Phelps is simply the best Olympic athlete of all time. While we can never say his record will never be matched or beaten, it will be many years until we see an athlete that compares to Phelps.

Missy Franklin - Missy won her 5th medal of the games today as part of the world record setting women's medley. Missy won 3 golds, a silver and a bronze medal at these games. Not bad for a 17 year old. In fact it's incredible.

US women's Medley (Swimming) Team - The US medley team won gold in world record fashion. This is the team that Missy Franklin was part of. The team capped off a great Olympics for American swimmers. They were fun to watch.

Serena Williams - Serena won the gold in the women's singles tennis event. It was on the same court where she won Wimbledon a few weeks back. Serena destroyed her opponent Maria Sharpova 6-0, 6-1. Williams  seems to be unbeatable right now.
