Daily Honor Roll - August 16th, 2012

Today we honor a team, not for their play on the field but for their actions off the field. Sometimes, I feel that we need to step back, forget about the game and recognize someone or a group that does something right, off the field. Today we have that team.

New York Giants - Led by their owners the Mara's, some members of the New York Giants (Eli Manning, Tom Coughlin and Victor Cruz) hosted the Teves family. The Teves family lost their son, Alex Teves in the Aurora Movie Theater shooting. Teves was a hero, who shielded his girlfriend and gave his life protecting her.

On Thursday, the New York Giants hosted the family and presented them with tickets to Saturday's preseason game. The Teve's are lifelong Giants fans and the moment meant a lot to them.

Hats off to the Giants for doing the right thing and trying to provide some joy to a family that has suffered a lot in recent weeks.
